### **Position Purpose:**

Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, the SHEQ Officer coordinates and facilitates the overall implementation of the SHEQ Management system within TPT Departments, ensuring a safe working environment and that both product and service quality meet the required standards.


### **Position Outputs:**

1. Coordinate all SHEQ functions within the area of responsibility in line with ISO standards, TIMS, and legislative requirements.

2. Support TPT departments/functions with the implementation and maintenance of the SHEQ Management Systems (TIMS).

3. Facilitate risk assessments with Departmental Managers and Supervisors and advise on mitigation measures.

4. Ensure proper document control within their areas of responsibility.

5. Raise SHEQ concerns and recommendations during SHEQ Meetings.

6. Conduct SHEQ Awareness and Induction Training.

7. Conduct internal audits for terminals and assist with audit schedules and closure of findings.

8. Review SHEQ procedures and work instructions in line with standards, TIMS, legislative requirements, and approval processes.

9. Conduct awareness on revised SHEQ policies and procedures.

10. Advise Contractors on applicable policies and procedures during inductions.

11. Conduct risk assessments on site establishments with Contractors and identify mitigation measures.

12. Guide Departmental Managers and Supervisors on corrective and preventive actions to audit non-conformances.

13. Disseminate information on changes affecting the SHEQ Management System and ensure compliance.

14. Provide guidance and support on occurrence management, including investigations.

15. Provide expert advice during SHEQ meetings and management reviews.

16. Track occurrences (NCRs, incidents) status in the area of responsibility.

17. Ensure recommendations from emergency preparedness drills are planned and records maintained.

18. Guide the development, implementation, and review of emergency preparedness and response procedures.

19. Implement Transnet strategies, policies, and objectives at all terminals.


### **Qualifications and Experience:**

- **Required:** 

  - N. Dip or B Tech in Health and Safety, Quality, or equivalent.

  - 2-5 years’ experience in implementing and maintaining a SHEQ Management System.

  - Driver’s license.

  - Willingness to work shifts.

- **Desired:** 

  - 3-5 years’ experience in implementing and maintaining a SHEQ Management System.

  - Certificates: SAMTRAC, ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 (implementation & auditing), root-cause analysis.
