**Vodacom Vacancies – Financial Operations Opex Specialist Job Vacancies**


We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Operations Opex Specialist to ensure precise and comprehensive Opex-related accounting within our operational sites.


**Key Responsibilities:**


**Operational Expenditure:**

- Conduct monthly analysis of operational accounts to detect trends and anomalies.

- Provide journal recommendations based on thorough analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of expenditure.

- Reconcile ERP data with source information systems for all recorded entries.


**Reporting:**

- Analyze reported data to identify key trends and anomalies, promptly investigating and resolving exceptions reported to senior management.

- Report actual costs at the site level, ensuring timely identification and reporting of material risks and opportunities.

- Assist in month-end management reporting, including Cost Center level reporting and Cashflow reporting, while preparing SOX controls.


**Month-End Closing (MEC) Daily:**

- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly activities performed by a shared services center, ensuring accuracy and completeness of operational expenditure through bi-monthly analysis.

- Verify completeness and accuracy of depreciation and interest.

- Post additional journals and adjustments to maintain accurate and complete records, including Opex accruals, reallocation journals, and intercompany journals.

- Ensure completeness and accuracy of the balance sheet through thorough review of balance sheet reconciliations.

- Provide necessary information to tax and offer support as required.


**Internal Control Environment:**

- Support the implementation of a robust control environment, ensuring adherence to all relevant group policies.

- Assist in implementing appropriate SOX controls, internal controls, and compliance requirements concerning the month-end close and reporting process.


**Ideal Candidate Profile:**


**Qualifications:**

- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience.

- Experience in Technology and Telco sectors would be advantageous.

- Proficient understanding of Accounting principles.

- Excellent proficiency in MS Office, particularly Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Familiarity with SAP ERP and HFM would be beneficial.
