**Job Description:**
As a Plant Quality Manager at SAB, your primary responsibility is to oversee all plant quality management activities supporting the Maltings plant. This role ensures adherence to quality standards and KPIs, maintaining high levels of product quality and safety.
**Key Roles and Responsibilities:**
- **Quality Management:**
- Implement and sustain the plant VPO Quality Pillar.
- Ensure all Lab Team activities adhere to company standards, practicing full Quality Management and the Quality VPO Pillar.
- Monitor and improve quality KPIs.
- **Quality Systems and Governance:**
- Act as the custodian for Malt and Barley Quality Systems & Non-conformances.
- Oversee Recipe and Process Control governance.
- Lead internal audits for Quality and Food Safety.
- **Quality Assurance:**
- Conduct Quality visits, meetings, and audits at barley depots.
- Champion VPO Food Safety initiatives, including HACCP, Hygiene, and GMP.
- Assess and ensure legal compliance.
- Manage QMS Document control.
- Maintain lab governance (MAPS, Reference control, calibration, etc.).
- **Barley Quality Control:**
- Supervise Barley Quality Control and execution of heat maps.
- Manage Barley Depot quality trends.
- Oversee Pre-harvest and heat map management.
- Maintain LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and conduct reviews.
- **Training and Development:**
- Develop, train, and educate personnel through policy implementation and technical training.
**Profile:**
- **Educational Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Quality Management/Food Sciences/Natural Sciences or equivalent.
- **Experience:**
- 5 years of experience in document management, administration, QC, and laboratory methodology.
- Auditor training for ISO 22000/HACCP and/or ISO 14001 and/or NOSA.
- Lead auditor certification advantageous.
- Experience in operational or technical roles in the malting environment.
- Sound knowledge and experience in Management Systems related to Food Safety and Environmental.
- Understanding of LIMS is beneficial.
