**Position Purpose:**
To ensure that the assigned production line meets and exceeds quality standards.
**Key Performance Areas:**
**Quality Control:**
- Perform quality control (QC) checks and generate reports for incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards in accordance with regulations.
- Compile QC reports and checklists.
- Perform sensory evaluation for incoming raw materials to ensure consistent quality and for product improvement.
- Perform regular internal and external quality control checks and monitor their quality to provide timely feedback for improvement.
- Monitor and record shelf life and temperatures for raw materials.
- Inspect packaging and labels on all products before dispatch.
**Hygiene Practices:**
- Inspect equipment for sanitation and integrity.
- Perform preoperational checks for hygiene and quality standards.
- Conduct environmental inspections.
**Health and Safety:**
- Monitor staff entrance to the production area to ensure staff adhere to strict hygiene practices.
- Conduct daily glass and hard plastic checks to ensure no particles are found in products.
- Conduct weekly chemical calibration checks.
- Ensure staff adhere to Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) requirements and report non-conformance to management.
**Cleaning Team Supervision:**
- Monitor the execution of cleaning activities delivered by cleaners.
- Plan and schedule cleaning team activities.
- Ensure adherence to cleaning schedules and display of schedules.
**Candidate Requirements:**
- Matric with a degree in Food Science or relevant qualification.
- At least 1-3 years of relevant experience in the Food Manufacturing Industry.
- Practical experience supervising a team in practicing day-to-day quality control/assurance, hygiene, health, and standards.
- Knowledge of basic Food Safety, HACCP Implementation, line inspections, and housekeeping will be advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Task and quality-oriented, able to plan and organize.
- Ability to build customer relations and resolve conflict.
- Self-motivated and driven with strong integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
- Willingness to work night shifts.
